  • TASTING NOTE: Very deep nose fruit reminiscent of black fig, blood plum and cassis with a hint of vanilla. Savoury notes delicately imply wax, sandy earth, red chilli, with a subtle suggestion of roast beef ends, finishing with fragrant, polished oak. A classic rich and creamy front palate with deep blackberry, fig and mulberry fruit, lifted by fresh acidity and firm dry tannins, leaving a perfume-filled, plush and powerful finish.
  • ABOUT THE WINE: 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Malbec. Hand Harvested 17 March - 18 April 2023. 100% Whole berry, wild fermented. Matured in French Oak Barriques (34% new) for 17 months.
  • ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Established in 1967 by regional pioneer Dr Tom Cullity, Vasse Felix is Margaret River's founding wine estate. Their wines reflect the strengths of Margaret River, with a focus on Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, as well as Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon blends. Under the ownership of the Holmes a Court family since 1987, the estate have carefully expanded their vineyards to include four distinct and exceptional sites around the Margaret River region. Each vineyard is matched to the best possible varieties and clones, and farmed sustainably using traditional and organic practices. As of 2020, the first of their vineyard blocks were NASAA organic certified.
