Graci Etna Rosso 2023

  • TASTING NOTE: "Wickedly fresh and floral, the 2023 Etna Rosso is bursting with violet and lavender tones, chalk dust and ripe wild strawberry fruit. It washes across the palate with juicy textures and crisp red berries as a stream of motivating acidity maintains marvelous energy. It leaves a subtle inner tension that pinches at the cheeks as tart cherry and hints of clove linger on. This sexy Etna Rosso will win a lot of hearts. (Drink between 2025-2029)." 92 Points - Eric Guido, Vinous Media
  • ABOUT THE WINE: Vinified in concrete tank and large oak tini (upright wooden casks) without temperature control. Maceration skins for apx 20 days. Aged for 18 months in concrete and tini.
  • ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Graci Winery is located in Passopisciaro on the northern slope of Europe's most active volcano Etna, an area of thousand-year wine tradition. The vines, with a density between 6,000 and 10,000 plants per hectare, are between 600 and 1,000 meters above sea level, part of which are ungrafted. Graci uses only indigenous grapes: Nerello Mascalese, Carricante and Catarratto with a great attention to sustainability. Cultivation of vineyards is certified organic, with careful selections and search for full maturity, limiting the yields in the vineyard to a minimum. The approach in the winery is rigorous, in search of precision and finesse. Vinification and aging take place in concrete tanks, in stainless steel, in tini and large barrels produced with very long seasoned wood. All the work is aimed at favoring the personality of the vines, keeping intact the differences and nuances between one vintage and the other, in the belief that only by satisfying and respecting the natural expression of a great territory can wines have the potential to truly evoke emotion.
