The Glendronach 'Ode To The Valley' Single Malt Scotch Whisky - Gift Box
- TASTING NOTE: Burnished copper. Late summer berries and chocolate de leche imbued with sweet demerara and apricot glaze. Blackberry and roasted apple crumble with freshly baked gingerbread and sweet damson plum. Matured in a combination of ruby port casks from the Duoro Valley in Portugal, and our signature sherry casks, this expression presents sweet notes of floral nectar to dance in harmony with succulent ripe summer berries. Glendronach
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: The Glendronach distillery was founded in 1826 by James Allardice and is located in rural Aberdeenshire. It is in the village of Forgue, close to the town of Huntly. The majority of the present buildings date from 1850 when the distillery was rebuilt following a devastating fire. It was the last single malt distillery in Scotland to use stills directly fired by coal. The Glendronach signature style is derived from both Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. Pedro Ximénez casks impart rich, deep fruit flavours and an intensely dark, natural colour. The dry and nutty notes come from our Oloroso casks. It is the partnership of robust highland spirit and Spanish sherry oak casks which create the complex depth and flavour for which The Glendronach is so well known.
